ATTORNEY Attorney Joshua P. Joy is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department. Attorney Joy practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial litigation, foreclosure, insurance defense, and real estate. Attorney Joy has a great deal of knowledge and wisdom as it relates to commercial and residential foreclosures, particularly contested foreclosures, and cases involving complex title issues with the primary focus being creditors’ rights. He also has valuable experience in mediating various types of legal issues. Attorney Joy is dedicated to serving his clients with the care, quality, and respect, to which they are entitled. Attorney Joy graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Political Science. Attorney Joy received his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. During his time at Quinnipiac, he participated in an externship program in assisting a local Hartford community organization in their work with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, concerning a study that evaluated Connecticut’s current environmental laws. Due to his various internships, he also gained experience dealing with immigration and personal injury cases. PARTNER Dennis R. LaVette has practiced law in the State of Connecticut for more than 35 years. The bulk of his practice is comprised of residential and commercial real estate transactions with an emphasis in mortgaging, financing, and title matters. He also practices in the areas of probate, wills and estate planning. Attorney LaVette is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, its Real Property Committee, and the Hartford County Bar Association. He has served on the CBA's Real Property Section Subcommittee on Closing Customs and is currently active in developing protocol and testing for the certification for the CBA Residential Real Estate Specialization Committee. He was formerly a member of the Closing Committee of the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association. He has extensive experience in all areas of judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, as he has represented loan servicers and institutional clients in both Massachusetts and Connecticut foreclosure matters. Beyond foreclosures, Attorney Lewis litigates evictions, resolves title issues, and protects client interests in bankruptcy proceedings. ATTORNEY Anthony M. Maio has over twenty years of experience in the practice of law, concentrating on residential real estate and civil litigation. Attorney Maio has extensive experience in the court rooms of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has successfully litigated matters at the trial court and appellate court levels. ATTORNEY Attorney Marc T. Miller represents individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex litigation matters. Attorney Rusi practices in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate, business law, and insurance defense. Attorney Rusi has a broad knowledge of commercial litigation, representing various clients in contested commercial and residential real estate matters, breach of contract disputes, and other general business matters. Attorney Rusi has extensive experience representing condominium and homeowner associations in maintaining their compliance with the Common Interest Ownership Act. Additionally, Attorney Rusi has represented numerous real estate owners in matters related to purchase, sale, development, and landlord/tenant disputes. Attorney Rusi graduated from Fairfield University with a B.A. in Politics and International Studies and received her law degree from Western New England School of Law.
