Anthony M. Maio


Anthony MaioAnthony M. Maio has over twenty years of experience in the practice of law, concentrating on residential real estate and civil litigation.  Attorney Maio has extensive experience in the court rooms of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has successfully litigated matters at the trial court and appellate court levels.  Given his vast experience, he is well versed in Massachusetts residential real estate, foreclosure and landlord tenant law.  His practice includes trials and appeals in these areas.

Attorney Maio’s work includes servicing the legal needs of both corporations and individuals, from drafting a simple will to complex litigation involving multiple parties and issues.  He has conducted and prevailed in civil suits dealing with personal injury and tort, business, real estate, family law and housing matters.

On the appellate level, Attorney Maio was instrumental in changing the landscape of the law in Massachusetts for the tort of intentional interference with a contract and with business relations as it applies to an attorney-client relationship.  See Cavicchi v. Koski et al, 67 Mass. App. Ct. 654 (2006).

Attorney Maio has litigated cases resulting in multiple reported decisions and favorable opinions in the Massachusetts Housing, Superior and Appeals Courts.  He also successfully represented multiple families in an environmental action involving idle bus motor emissions and respiratory injuries to local families. Over the course of his career, he has successfully obtained many favorable settlements for clients in cases brought to mediation or arbitration.

During law school, Anthony Maio served as a judicial law clerk for the Massachusetts Land Court and also served as an intern with the firm of Greene & Hoffman, P.C., where he worked on complex civil litigation cases.  Attorney Maio went on to establish and operate the successful law firm, Stiles & Maio, P.C. He continued to practice in the Boston area for fifteen years.  Attorney Maio relocated with his family to western Massachusetts where he now practices with the firm out of its West Springfield office.
